On February 13, officers and men of the Changsongshi Central Radar Station of the Chengdu Military Area Command Air Force received a piece of special gift-commercial medical insurance. The servicemen said gladly: "From now on, we don't have to go far away to see doctors or to be hospitalized once we're ill, instead, we can do that at the nearby hospitals." Till now, the first batch of commercial medical insurance of the whole army has been given to troops stationed in remote area of the Chengdu Military Area Command Air Force, which facilitated the medical care of grassroots units.
Most radar stations of the Chengdu Military Area Command Air Force stationed in severe cold and remote area, which are far away from the hospital of the air force system, soldiers have to travel several hundred kilometers to see doctors. In order to ensure the patient to get timely treatment, the Chengdu Military Area Command Air Force positively has been seeking for ways of getting logistics support socialized. After extensive investigation and argumentation, the unit decided to underwrite commercial medical insurance for officers and men in the Radar Station, which is far from the hospital of the air force system but near to local hospital of the place they stationed. At the end of last year, it raised fund to underwrite medical insurance for over 400 officers and men of the radar station in remote areas. The insurance agreement stipulated clearly: If the officers and men become disabled and injured because of unexpected accidents, the insurance company will pay certain insurance benefit according to actual injuries; those who need to be hospitalized because of illness and unexpected accidents, the insurance company will grant corresponding hospitalization fee; the hospitalization fee is not limited by times of treatment, the payment of the insurants will be collected by the health division of the Chengdu Military Area Command Air Force and they will apply for compensation from the insurance company in every 3 months. This move won wide praises from the troops.
