Recently, a sub-department of the Chengdu Military Area Command received an emergency support mission at a very short notice: "Immediately send a batch of clothing and accoutrements to a place in the western part of Sichuan Province!" As soon as the sub-department delivered clothing and accoutrements to the designated place according to the stipulated time, and the logistics support personnel immediately switched on the radio frequency card reader mounted on an automatic unloading logistics command vehicle, the computer immediately displayed all the items and types of the material in the container. All the clothing and accoutrements in the container was distributed in three minutes.
In order to meet the requirements of high-efficiency, promptness, accuracy and timeliness in logistics support, the sub-department teamed up with Chengdu Electronic Technology University and successfully developed the Quartermaster Material Command & Operation System, Data Automatic Collection System and Wireless Transmission System, and installed them onto the tail part of the automatic unloading support vehicle. With these systems in place, the Focus Logistics can be accomplished by means of clicking the computer mouse, a sharp contrast to "rummaging through container" in logistics support in the past.
Working in close cooperation with the related departments, the sub-department has also incorporated the satellite communication system and computer control system into the vehicle-mounted medical operation shelter, enabling the medical shelter to provide "all-weather" long distance video medical support to fighting troops. With these systems in place, the shelter has now acquired several additional functions, such as medical experts consultation, long distance medical guidance and medical data consultation, etc.
