Shi, a newly recruited soldier, suffered from insomnia and could not focus his mind on drilling. According to the related department of the Fujian Provincial Military Command, a military doctor is assigned to each new recruit company, whose duty is not only to prevent disease and treat drilling hurt in time, but also to effectively solve the psychological problems of the new recruits.
In the Fujian Provincial Military Command, most newly recruited soldiers are the only child in their families and some of them are poor in adapting themselves to hard environment and weak in psychological endurance. Facing the hardship of island and mountainous area and tense drilling, psychological problems will gradually emerged, which, in turn, will affect their study and drilling. To solve this problem, the Provincial Military Command paid great attention to adopting related measures to help new recruits to foster sound mentality and strong physique and to acquire touch fighting spirit, so as to lay a solid foundation for future service. To this end, they established health files for the new recruits and selected a number of shrinks to be with the new recruits companies, in order to carry out whole course medical observation of the psychological and physical conditions of the new recruits and hold psychological education courses to solve the psychological problems in time.
