Recently, a general storage depot of the Beijing Military Area Command stationed in the hometown of combat hero Dong Cunrui was awarded the title of Model Unit in the Development of Socialist Ethics and Culture with Civilians by the local government. This is the fourth time the depot received such an award in the past four years.
Since 1999, working in tandem with the local educational department, the depot has successfully devoted its efforts to establish "Dong Cunrui Teenagers Military School" by making use of the land and facilities that have been left unused, to carry out military training for local middle school students. By January this year, the Teenagers Military School has held 82 training courses for local middle school students with enrolment of over 40,000. Through training, the students have greatly improved their ability to take care of themselves as well as their way of style. In the process, these students have also had a better understanding of the army and their love for military life.
