Yang Le, a new soldier of the No. 7 Company of a motorized infantry brigade, the Jinan Military Area Command, was a graduate from the Chinese Department of Tianjin Normal College before he joined the army. Because he is good at writing and painting, Yang is called by his comrades-in-arms a "soldier scholar". He trained hard at the recruit training center and came first in the all-round military skill competition held by the center and was awarded "pacesetter in military training".
