On January 12, Yang Zhen, quartermaster of the 8th Company of a "Red Army" regiment of the Beijing Military Area Command, returned happily from a visit to his family. With this, all the officers of this regiment have taken their vacations, which they are entitled to for last year.
From the arrangement of ensuring them the chance of taking their vacations, the officers of the regiment could feel the loving care of their superiors for them, which in turn inspired the officers to go all out in their work. As a result, phenomena such as outstaying their leaves or staying behind schedule have been eliminated. Even phenomena like asking for leave of absence have been dramatically reduced. For the past year, the regiment succeeded in fulfilling vital tasks of fighting SARS, upgrading or updating their military equipment, conducting actual troop field maneuver, laying cables and so on. It has been elected the first-class regiment for military training by the Beijing Military Area Command, the advanced unit for education and management by the corps and awarded a second collective citation for merit.
