In order to speed up wartime armament and ammunition support and meet the increased needs for equipment and ammunitions in future wars, a general depot in the Nanjing Military Area Command developed by itself the "Interflow System for Ammunitions Reception and Distribution in Large Ordnance Depot". Based on the system, an interflow channel for receiving and distributing ammunitions was established between the railroad station and the depot. The use of the channel would help shorten work process, reduce human labor, increase machinery usage efficiency and boost the support capability of the depot.
