Yesterday, our reporter learnt from the related departments of the General Armament Department of the PLA that since this year, the existing armaments, especially new armaments of the entire army have become systematical, resulting in significant improvements in the fighting capacity and support capability. Besides, many key problems in armament support have been solved and the planning task of the year have been completed successfully. The operating organism of armament construction has been improved continuously, embarking on the road of being more systematic, standard and scientific.　

　　Since this year, all troops have adhered to the task of bringing out the fighting capacity and support capability of the whole system of new armaments, even the whole establishment and making this the priority on the armaments work agenda of the army, in line with the unified deployment of the Central Military Commission. They have been "taking stock" of the armaments in the comprehensive way, completing the system, paying attention to the development of human resources, to the armament and war readiness training as well as regular management of the armaments and research on armament support theory. Related departments of the General Armaments Department of the PLA had instructed all troops to carry out key-problem trouble-shooting involving armament support under high-tech conditions, centering on key problems and difficulties of armament support, as a result, new ideas, new technology and new methods have cropped up in armament emergency repair, ammunition supplement, antisepsis and information construction. They have established an experimental unit regarding field operation armament repair, making new contribution to the armament reparation, field support, allocation of support capability, support plans as well as informationization construction, forming a series of standards of the outfit and packing of repairing facilities and tools and formulating series of technical specifications of military field reparation and models and method of field reparation support of the army. Besides, they also held research and argumentation of fighting armament for special areas, formulating a series of armament support measures adaptable to the fighting method and armament support methods adaptable to the fighting surroundings.

　　Since this year, related department of the General Armaments Department has been focusing on comprehensive integration and upper level building, and enforcing key point conformity, systematical convergence, arrangement and structural reshuffling in line with the requirements of future informationized war. They have enforced the development of laws and regulations, organizations and instructions, support powers, management and maintenance, reserve and supply, and education and training systems, and have maintained a balanced development, forming a complete series of systematical fighting capability and support capability experience and models. At the same time, the organs of the General Armaments Department of the PLA have identified the construction results and experience timely according to the practice of the armaments construction of the army. At present, the troops of the entire army have completed the primary construction task laid down by the Central Military Commission. The armament serviceable rate, matching rate and the combat attendance rate etc. all get significant improvement, realizing the systematization of the existing armaments, improving the fighting capability and support capability by and large.
