Recently the State Council and the Central Military Commission issued an order to award Jinggangshan Detachment of Jiangxi General Brigade of Public Security and Firefighting the honor of Model Firefighting Detachment of Jinggangshan.

　　The order, signed by Premier Wen Jiabao and Jiang Zemin, Chairman of the Central Military Commission, reads that the officers and men of Jinggangshan firefighting detachment bear in mind the principle of serving the people wholeheartedly and vigorously carry forward the revolutionary spirit of Jianggangshan. They give priority to the interests of the people and the state, subordinate themselves to the overall national interests regardless their own gains or losses. They have completed various missions of firefighting and maintaining security, stood up to the austere tests of blood and fire, life and death, carried out the important thought of "Three Represents" with practice and made outstanding contributions to protecting the state property and life and property of the people and promoting the growth of local economy and social development.

　　The order says that, since 1996 the detachment has sent out manpower for 1,560 times and rescued 232 people and protected assets with value of over 20 million yuan. Since 1984, the detachment has been cited for 49 times by authorities above provincial level and been awarded as Outstanding Detachment for 7 years running by the Jiangxi General Brigade of Public Security and Firefighting, won the second class merit one time and 4 times of third class merit. In 2001, the detachment was awarded National Outstanding Grassroot Party Organization by the Organization Department of Central Committee of the CPC; in 2003 it was awarded the Outstanding Collective of Learning from Lei Feng and offering Volunteer Service by the Publicity Department, Civilization Office of the CPC, the General Political Department of the PLA and the Central Committee of Communist Youth League and was named Youth Civilized Team by the Central Committee of Communist Youth League and the Ministry of Public Security.

　　The State Council and the Central Military Commission urged all the policemen, officers and men of the military forces and the armed police force to learn from them and earnestly implement the important thought of "Three Represents" by following their examples, to promote revolutionization, modernization and normalization of the army and to constantly enhance the combat effectiveness in order to complete various missions entrusted by the Party and the people.
