Moving in the high mountains
A motor-vehicle unit of the Sichuan-Tibet support station of the Chengdu Military Area Command is charged with the arduous task of transporting supplies to Tibet, which makes them shuttling along the 3,000-li Sichuan-Tibet route all year round every year. For 50 years members of the heroic unit have dedicated their youth, love, family life and even lives to this task. They have to endure the torments of hunger, to brave snow and fierce wind, to battle with landslide and to take on nature in order to fulfill their task, thus displaying the loyalty of the people's army to their motherland. While performing their duty, they have demonstrated fully their unusual makings in conquering difficulties, in devotion and in sustaining hardships, which has been answered with a lot of heroic deeds and great achievements. For all these years, they have nourished, at the cost of their lives and sweat, the spirit of not being squashed or subjugated by hardships, heavy tasks, difficulties and dangers, thus making great contributions to maintaining the stability of southwest China and to promoting the booming and development of the economy in that region.
