With over one year's research and practice, a health care training base under the Shenyang Military Area Command has successfully developed a new means to train health care staff by using digital network technology and closed circuit television, realizing a shift of training mode. The new mode adopted by the base is informationized, regularized and can train health care staff in large numbers. By adopting this mode, over 1,000 students have mastered the knowledge of prevention and treatment of common diseases and frequently occurring diseases.
At the teaching building of the training base, the reporter noticed a cable that had linked 6 teaching research offices and 18 classrooms. When one teacher gave lecture in a classroom, the real-time image, voice and various teaching material of his teaching activity would be transmitted to other classrooms. The students listening to lecture in other classrooms could also ask questions. The closed circuit television system in the classrooms displayed standard operation skill in rotation to ensure students can practice repeatedly according to the video. To facilitate teachers to find materials they need, the base also established a digitalized teaching material database. With a click of the mouse, teachers could easily have access to teaching charts, specimen, videotapes and multi-media courseware.
In addition, the base also made energetic efforts to reform the teaching and training means to be in keeping with the military changes. In order to boost the informationization level in teaching activities, the base managed to raise 3 million yuan by cutting down its expenditure and dispensing with redundant vehicles, to establish a computer network center, a laboratory and multi-function lecture hall, and set up a digitalized network interaction teaching system and communication network so as to enable the training facilities to be well-matched with the teaching means. These measures have greatly improved the teaching quality and efficiency at this training base.
