In early December, a missile brigade stationed in an area 4,000 meters above sea level in Tibet, launched four missiles with newly acquired equipment in an exercise and they all hit the targets. The result of this exercise indicated that this new type of missile equipment had generated fighting power ahead of time and that the future-oriented training of talents had achieved its initial results.

　　In 2001, the brigade started future-oriented talent training program. It trained talents by way of mutual complement between college education and troops training, linking basic education with continuing education, and combining cultivation of talents by the army with that by civilian colleges. In early 2002, it sent four backbone servicemen to receive further education in relevant colleges. At the same time it renovated the existing simulation equipment, and on this basis, it started to conduct future-oriented training. By the time when new generation of missile equipment came to the brigade, the future-oriented training had already been going on for one year. In early November, the brigade conducted a missile live ammunition test. During the test firing, the related experts from colleges said that it was really great for a brigade stationed in the area 4,000 meters above sea level to be able to let its new equipment generate fighting powers ahead of time.

　　Now, the talents of this brigade who received training in colleges are able to meet the training need of new equipment, and there are still dozens of officers and men studying in civilian and military colleges. In addition, this year the number of those who study for postgraduate diploma has increased by 5% compared to that of last year.
