Recently, a certain site in Beijing suburb was enveloped in "war smoke". With 3 green signals fired into air, the quartermaster convoy of a missile division under the air force of the Beijing Military Area Command rushed to the operational drill area to carry out various logistics support drill. After it arrived at the destination, the field medical aid and tactical POL depot support and other logistics support drills were in full swing, with advance support elements following closely behind the fighting units, and the accompanying support elements reaching their appointed places timely.　　　

　　In February last year, the division was entrusted with the task of armament test and evaluation by the General Logistics Department of the PLA. The division immediately seized this opportunity to discard some traditional support modes, such as base support and fixed-point support, and organized the quartermaster, repair, POL, transport, quarters and medical aid support systems at three-levels (division, regiment and battalion) according to the operation zones and support directions. The division conducted detailed general survey of all its equipment so as to enable its support capability to meet the need of major equipment and armaments of fighting troops.

　　In order to test the effect of the logistics equipment in actual war, the division combined the logistics support drill with important missions carried out by the division without preplanning, so as to change the previous "tailor-made" way of drilling exercise. As a result, the support capability of its logistics equipment was drilled in line with various operational links, such as withdrawal, march, eating, living, management and hiding. By doing so, it has acquired multi-link, multi-level and multi-channel support methods.
