An anti-aircraft brigade of the Lanzhou Military Area Command prepared difficult training subjects for its field training and made efforts to solve knotty problems the troops had encountered in the past training, so as to boost the combat effectiveness of its troops.

　　In the light of the fact that brigade had devoted more time to daytime training to the neglect of night training, the brigade decided to reverse the trend and attached importance to AA artillery night range practice. In view of the fact what night operation is characterized by poor visibility, difficulty in tracking targets and low hitting accuracy, they organized the officers and men to practice weapon operation and commanding coordination and tracking targets repeatedly. At the same time, battalion and company commanders and backbone solders were invited to study problems found in practice firing and worked out solutions for solving the problem of poor visibility and difficulty for radar command system to track targets. Thanks to the above-mentioned measures, the hitting accuracy of this brigade soon shot up.

　　In live ammunition range practice, the brigade prepared difficult training subjects in the light of the training outline, and used machine-guns to replace artilleries in training to conduct firing on the move, and let commanders at various levels to practice commanding skill and coordination while the troops were on the move in order to boost commanders' capability to deal with complex situation.
