In an airborne exercise finished recently, the airborne commando members with new-type of equipment and new type of battle suit drew the attention of numerous journalists. According to some experts, the successful development of the individual field survival protection equipment has made it possible for soldiers to reduce further the survival equipment load in battle field, enabling them to increase necessary individual battle equipment and upgrading the battle effectiveness.

　　The new-type of survival protection equipment displayed before the reporters has 8 sets including helmet, bulletproof waist, sleeping gears and parachutist boot. The new parachutist helmet weighs 0.9 kg, and it can be installed with information display system and audio-visual system and has such functions as fireproof, water proof and light reflection proof. The bulletproof waist weighs 3 kg and takes only 20 seconds to put on and only 5 seconds to take off. The weight of the parachutist boot is 1.5 kg, with good property of wallop resistance, good wear resistance and anti-skidding. It's comfort and doesn't affect soldiers' operation.

　　According to experts, the new equipment uses a lot of new material, new technology and is small in size and light in weight, easy to use and carry. The sleeping gears is only 2.7 kg and the internal layer is made of heat preservation material with such functions as wind proof, moisture proof and frigidness proof and is appropriate to be used in coastal damp field conditions.

　　In the exercise interval, the reporter saw the airborne commando members drinking mineral water in a new type of parachutist water bag. The weight of the water bag is 228 g and its maximum capacity is 1881 ml. It is used together with backpacker and will not affect the parachute jumping and marching. At noon, the airborne commando members also made a meal with the parachutist lunch boxes. The solid fuel attached to the lunch box weighs 1 kg. It has good compatibility with portable equipment and making a meal needs only more than 10 minutes. The reporter also had a try on the parachutist flashlight and it has good rainproof, shock resistance and color change functions. The rechargeable lithium cell can be used for 45 consecutive minutes and the effective liaison distance is as long as 100 m.
