In late October, a logistics support element, made up of several dozens of transport vehicles loaded with all kinds of materials, passed across low-lying beach land, "enemy" obstacles and "blockade lines" and eventually arrived at an unfamiliar area. This was an exercise conducted by an artillery regiment of the Shenyang Military Area Command for the purpose of building up the logistics elements' capabilities in logistics command, self-defense and in providing rapid logistics support to fighting units under complex environment.

　　In light of the arduous character and complexity of wartime logistics support, and the fact that logistics element always lay stress on support training to the neglect of training in self-defense, the regiment stuck to the training of rush repair, first aid, logistics supply and self defense under real combat conditions. In addition, the regiment purposely increased proportion of the following training subjects in order to boost quality of logistics support personnel: the fighting methods, strategic planning, battlefield protection and self-rescue capability. At the same time, the regiment used advanced command automation equipment to set up battlefield logistics support command automation network and organized the officers and men to experience the battlefield atmosphere, to learn and master the logistics support method in offensive and defensive operation so as to enhance the wartime logistics support capability of logistics elements.

　　The reporter saw at the drill ground that in the face of blockade by "enemy" artillery fire, the elements tried every means to deal with battlefield environment. They used smoke screen as cover, made feint movement, advanced by dividing into several small groups, etc to get rid of the "enemy" harassment and delivered the support materials to the designated area on time.
