¡¡¡¡At 6:23, October 16, 2003, China's first manned spacecraft landed safely on the main landing site in the central part of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and realized the China's millennial dream of flying to space. At that exciting historical moment, people would never forget the full support of all ethnic groups in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region to our manned spaceflight.
¡¡¡¡The main landing site of manned spaceflight mission was located in the central grassland of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, and the Party committee and the government of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region attached great importance and gave full support to the mission. Before each experimental mission, the Party committee and the government of the autonomous region would establish coordination teams and held meetings between the military and civilian to clearly define the responsibilities and missions to solve all the related issues involving the retrieve of the re-entry capsule. At the same time, the Party committee and the government also called the leading officials of transportation, security, communication and power supply departments to the main landing site to handle the related things on the spot, and check road condition, security measures, energy supply, communication facilities and logistics support so as to ensure that all the preparation for spacecraft recovery run no risk at all.
¡¡¡¡According to the requirements of the rocket and spacecraft design, the first stage rocket, four boosters and fairing will drop in the central grassland of Inner Mongolia. It is of great significance to retrieve the debris in order to study and improve the performance of rockets. In order to collect all the debris of the rocket and the fairing¡¡in time, the autonomous region requests the administrative leagues and banners in the area to establish observation spots, and organized herdsmen to help with searching work with the help of walkie-talkie. From Shenzhou I to Shenzhou V spacecraft, the first stage rockets and the fairing remains had been retrieved at the quickest speed with the help of the herdsmen. Especially in Erduosi City, where the rocket remains of Shenzhou V were scattered, its government organized the herdsmen to help find the rocket magnetism recorder in time and completed the re-collection mission of the debris successfully.
¡¡¡¡The main landing site of the spacecraft covers an area of 8,000 square meters, including 6 administrative leagues and 17 banners and counties in the central and western part of Inner Mongolia. The re-entry capsule had to experience 200 km road transportation, which involved complex and arduous security arrangement. The public security department of the autonomous region transferred large numbers of policemen to carry out security mission. In order to ensure the power supply of the main landing site, the power supply department would check power supply lines within the radius of 200 km at the main landing site and work out emergency measures in light of different seasons. In order to complete the emergency salvage mission in unexpected situation, under the unified organization of the Inner Mongolia Military Area Command, the local armed forces organized local militiamen into emergency salvage teams to be at standby, waiting to carry out emergency salvage mission. When the first manned spacecraft landed safely, a young girl of Mongolia nationality presented a white hada to Yang Liwei, China's first astronaut, on behalf of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, to express their warm congratulations.¡¡
