For days, officers and men of a group army who were at flood-fighting frontline in Lankao Section of the Yellow River won the praise of local people with their high morale and strict discipline.

　　In the light of the fact that the troops are liable to neglect the management when they are performing emergent, difficult or dangerous tasks, the group army decides to use important tasks to cultivate the working style of its officers and men. With this in mind, the group army not only demanded all units to display heroic and indomitable spirit in this flood-fighting and relief operation, but also asked them to cultivate their working style in their action so as to foster the fine image of a powerful and civilized force of the PLA. During the anti-flood operation, the officers and men persistently cultivated the fine working style throughout the operation and fostered fine image of our army. On the dike, the officers and men of an infantry brigade not only did not litter, but also made a proposal to "protect the mother river". In addition, they made use of break time to dig pits to bury mineral water bottles and plastic bags. For officers and men of an engineering regiment stayed in classrooms of a primary school, they got up at 5:00 o'clock every morning in order not to disrupt school teaching schedule. Good working style provided a solid foundation for the accomplishment of various tasks. Making wicker cases for holding 1,100 cubic meters of stone for anti-flood purpose needs 40 persons to work for 24 hours normally, but the officers and men of a communication regiment accomplished it in 8 hours.
