Recently, Taiwan authority has been playing tricks in governmental examination diction, history teaching material and language policies and so on. First, its "Examination Department" used Southern Fujian dialect in "civil servant" examination so as to depreciate the position of Mandarin; then its "Ministry of Education" issued the Outline of High School History (Draft) of 2005 and included the history of China since middle Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) in the world history; then the "Administration Department" planned to make Mandarin, Southern Fujian dialect and Kejia dialect as "official languages" of Taiwan. Such practices mentioned above are gummy actions taken by Taiwan to promote cultural Taiwan independence, which are against science, civilization and the trend of history, and is another important measure it has adopted to carry out gradual Taiwan independence and should be brought to our attention.

　　Cultural Taiwan independence became more fierce

　　The birth of cultural Taiwan independence has experienced a long time development and changes, i.e., it started with the cultural indigenization activity on the island, from which "Taiwan awareness" derived, which dissimilated to cultural separatism that served political objectives of Taiwan independence in the end. Accompanying the degeneration of cultural indigenization of the island, Taiwan independence forces have used cultural Taiwan independence as tools for its dirty purposes for a long time.

　　With Lee Teng-hui came into power, cultural Taiwan independence became more fierce. First he promoted new teaching material Understanding Taiwan to take the lead for Taiwan independence; secondly, it made bubbles on nation group with the absurd allegation that "Taiwanese is not Chinese"; thirdly, it put forward the theory of New Taiwanese and agitated Two Chinas openly in an attempt of separating Taiwan from motherland; fourthly, it tried to restore "culture of Japan" to connive right wing of Japan to play tricks in Taiwan and to try to reverse for "culture of Japan colonizing sovereign"; fifthly, it attempted cultural Taiwan independence and tried to deny the fact that Taiwan culture is part of China culture with indigenization, freedom and pro-Taiwan of Taiwan culture.

　　Since assumed the reins of government, Chen Shui-bian inherited Lee to promote cultural Taiwan independence vigorously. He alleged publicly "Taiwan culture is not a branch of China culture" and forced the broadcasters of Taiwan to greatly increase programs of "Taiwan language", and he himself made speeches in "Taiwan language" in public.

　　With the up-heating and ever-increasing competition of the so-called "president" election in 2004, in order to shift the blame of the public on the ruling party for the plunging economy, Taiwan authority put forward the fallacy that "Taiwan belongs to the Taiwanese and has nothing to do with mainland China".

　　Aiming at diminishing the Taiwan compatriots identification with China as a nation and as a country

　　Cultural Taiwan independence is an important part of Taiwan independence. By advocating for "cultural Taiwan Independence", the separatist forces of Taiwan are aiming at cutting off the ties of Taiwan compatriots with mainland China from cultural and educational facets and diminishing their identification with China as a nation and a country step by step with the banner of indigenization so as to gradually realize "diluting their sense of being Chinese" and lay a foundation for realizing Taiwan independence in the end.

　　Generally speaking, cultural Taiwan independence promoted by Taiwan separatist forces are epitomized in two aspects: first, to reinterpret relations of "Taiwan culture" with the traditional culture of China in order to deny the position of Chinese culture in Taiwan from historical facets and make up an independent "Taiwan culture". To include the history of China in the part of world history is a part of Taiwan authority's plot to distort the historical and cultural axis of Taiwan. Secondly, it purposely created cultural differences between Taiwan and mainland China.

　　Cultural Taiwan independence is seditious and cheating

　　Compared with political Taiwan independence, although cultural Taiwan independence does not directly breach China's sovereignty and territorial integrity, it hurts the cause of peaceful unification with the motherland equally bad for its seditious and cheating nature, hence it's profoundly dangerous.

　　The hazardousness of cultural Taiwan independence first embodied that it would blur the acknowledge and awareness of the Taiwan public as being part of China and being Chinese.

　　Secondly, cultural Taiwan independence is possessed of more cheating nature to the public of Taiwan.

　　Thirdly, most of the public of the island acknowledged that the anti-Taiwan-independence public opinion supported by most people on the island is the foundation of realizing peaceful unification. Direct damage will be done to the peaceful unification process if cultural Taiwan independence is left to itself to blur the cultural acknowledge and motherland acknowledge of the public of Taiwan and to lead to cross-straits confrontation.

　　The culture of China has enjoyed a long history of 5,000 years, which has been jointly created by all nations including Taiwan compatriots. All Chinese with conscience should cherish it and protect it. Anybody plots to blur the culture and achieve his/her personal political purpose via activities of "diluting their sense of being Chinese" is doomed to fail. With the forthcoming so-called "presidential election", the practice of attempting to sell cultural Taiwan independence can only cause rage and be cast aside by the Taiwan public.
