With only 30 yuan cost, a kind of POL analysis equipment as good as a 7000 yuan worth of　imported one was recently developed by Liu Yongjun, a fourth-class noncommissioned officer(NCO) of a POL depot of the Guangzhou Military Area Command. This is his 17th achievement of scientific research in his 13 years of service.

　　In 1991, Liu joined the army and became a POL analyst. With self-study, he got such certificates as the senior analyst certificate and senior fire fighter certificate successively. Liu participated in the POL expertise contest 4 times and won 4 first places and became top technician in the POL sector of the command. On this basis, Liu used his knowledge to boldly conduct scientific innovations. In only several years, Liu got 17 innovation achievements. His laboratory has been crowned as the "Outstanding Quality Management Unit" and he himself has been awarded the third-class merit 3 times.
