The methods of helicopter, tank and artillery carousels were used by Russian servicemen at the anti – terrorist exercises of the countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Peace Mission-2021 in the Orenburg region.
The servicemen of the Central Military District used an artillery carousel and a double helicopter carousel on Mi-24 helicopters, also using a stalled tank platoon inflicted a fire defeat on the enemy by the method of a tank carousel.
During the artillery carousel, the crews change each other to positions for replenishing ammunition. In addition, in the course of practical actions, self-propelled howitzers Msta-S and Hosta were used, the shells of which exploded simultaneously at a high altitude above the positions of terrorist formations and directly above the ground, significantly increasing the effectiveness of fire damage.
Further, tankers from hidden fortifications equipped with camouflaged tunnels defeated the enemy. The method of stalled tank platoon was used for the first time. The last carousel was arranged by the crews of Mi-24 Krocodile attack helicopters. Two Mi-24 strike units, acting synchronously from two directions in the circle combat order, inflicted continuous fire damage to the forces of the mock enemy, firing more than 1,000 S-8 air-to-surface air missiles, high-explosive incendiary and armor-piercing shells.
The exercises Peace Mission-2021 are held on September 20-24 at the Donguz training ground in the Orenburg region under the leadership of the commander of the Central Military District of the Central Military District, Colonel-General Alexander Lapin. Military personnel from Russia, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Belarus take part in it.
