A two-floor Shikumen (Stone-ringed Doors) building on North Chengdu Road, Jing'an District in Shanghai is where the first Constitution of the CPC was created and is home to the Memorial of the Site of the Second National Congress of the CPC. It was here that Yin Yiteng, a veteran who was decommissioned from the 10th Squadron three years ago, was praised for his work.

In early 2018, an old man in his 80s came to the memorial and stopped outside the exhibition hall of the Constitution of the CPC. Yin Yiteng, who was guiding visitors in the hall, came up to ask if he needed any help.

The old man said he wanted to hear the story of Zhang Renya, who joined the CPC in 1922 and was the keeper of the only original of the first Constitution of the CPC preserved in the world today.

Yin helped him inside the hall and told him Zhang Renya’s story in detail. When he finished, the old man was very excited and revealed that he was nephew of Zhang Renya. He held Yin’s hands and exclaimed, “you are a good storyteller. I feel assured that people like you are working here!”
