On the eve of the grand opening of Twelfth Spasskaya Tower International Military Music Festival the organizers held a special press conference to brief all media representatives about the details of this year’s production as well as thank them all for the information support provided to the main military music celebration of the country throughout all these years. Hence, only today the press event featured sixty media representing Russia, Italy, DPR of Korea, Egypt, Belarus and Japan, as well as several international new agencies and TV companies.
“Owing to your continuous support, for the twelfth year in a row millions of Russians as well as people from all over the globe have the opportunity to witness the biggest event of the summer season rolling out on Red Square”, addressed all the media representatives Lieutenant General Sergey Khlebnikov, Head of the Moscow Kremlin Commandant’s Service – Moscow Kremlin Commandant.
Annually both Russian and foreign media actively cover all the activities of the Spasskaya Tower Festival contributing to its continuously growing popularity. Thus, every year media representatives are among the first to witness the Festival’s productions, even before their official opening.
“Today we are very excited as we are presenting you the production that we’ve been working almost a year now and we are looking forward for your sincere judgements. Enjoy the show”, wished the press conference Mr. Sergey Smirnov, Head of the Festival’s Directorate.
Solo with a Band is the leading theme of the twelfth run of the Festival. According to Major General Timofey Mayakin, Head of the Military Band Music Service of the Russian Armed Forces – Chief Military Conductor and Music Director of the Festival, military bands may easily share the floor with vocalists, solo performers and even rock bands. Participants are promising to strike the audiences not only with their brilliant skills and exquisite military posture, but with various music surprises as well.
Thus, Colonel Murat İchli, Head of the Turkish Armed Forces Armoni Band, unveiled a secret about their performance on Red Square, telling the journalists that they will perform an excerpt form the world-famous opera. According to Colonel Higuti Takahiro, Head of the Central Band of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force, they will award the audiences with a song performed on Russian.
Other surprises prepared by the participants of the Spasskaya Tower Festival we will discover pretty soon as we have ten beautiful festival days ahead of us, days full of music, new meetings, vivid emotions, thundering ovations, intercultural bonding and splendid fireworks above the night sky of Moscow.
